Greetings from the Library Director
Welcome to the Eastchester Public Library! We hope you will enjoy our library’s wonderful collection of adult and children’s materials as well as the various programs offered by the library. Sign up for our first R.E.A.D program!
The library is very pleased to work with Therapy Dogs of Rockland, which brings the R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program to our community! By employing a powerful method: reading to a dog, children will gain more confidence and improve their reading skills.
Cash, a gentle and loving black lab will be our reading pal! Either bring your favorite book to read to her or ask the librarian to select one for you!
First meeting date and time: October 23th@10am. Each session is 15-minute long and one-on-one based with the R.E.A.D team and a librarian. Permission slip must be signed by a parent/guardian before the session starts.
Friends of The Library BOOK SALE ROOM Opens!
The Library Book Sale Room is now open two days a week! The Book Sale Room will be open every Tuesday and Friday from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Stop by and check out our selection!

EPL Long-Range Planning Survey: Now Through October 31st
Our Long-Range Planning Survey is designed to let us get to know you better and to uncover new trends and develop new strategies to serve the residents of our Town. Please take a moment or two to answer the following survey questions. Your responses will assist us in identifying what is important to you as a community member and allow us to fulfill our mission to provide a meaningful experience for all who enter the library physically or virtually.
We want to hear from everyone, whether you use the library every day or haven’t visited in quite a while. All feedback is helpful!
Take the Long-Range Planning survey in-person at the library or by visiting: tinyurl.com/pz8tcwha
You will no longer need to make an appointment to visit your library. As you know, COVID restrictions are rapidly changing. Right now, masks continue to be required in the library. We are happy to report that public computers are once again available but are limited to a 30 minute time period per day. WiFi is, as always, available on our reading patio. Our continuing goal is to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff!
