Donations Update

Effective June 18th, 2024, the Friends of the Library are not able to take donations. We suggest contacting the Vietnam Veterans of America at 800-775-8387 (this number is for Westchester and the northern suburbs), or visit https://scheduleapickup.com.

The Friends' Book Sale

The Friends' 2024 Giant Book Sale was a success! Thanks to everyone who donated items and/or came by and supported the book sale!

The Friends of the Eastchester Public Library operate and maintain a used Book Sale on a continual basis. Proceeds from the Book Sale support EPL's programming for adults and children. We are grateful to members of the community who donate their gently used books to the Friends’ book store.  The bookstore offers a variety of fiction and nonfiction books. It is well-organized, restocked and maintained by volunteers.

In an effort to keep our stock fresh, re-booksellers are welcome, contact friends4epl@gmail.com to arrange a visit.

Fall 2024 Book Sale Hours:

Tuesdays: Noon - 3 pm

Fridays: Noon - 3 pm

First two Saturdays of each month: Noon - 3 pm

Prices:

  • Most* hardcover books: $2
  • Trade paperbacks (taller than 7"): $1
  • Mass-market paperbacks & romance (shorter than 7"): 50 cents
  • Children's books: 50 cents or $1
  • Audiobooks & DVD's: $1
  • Music CD's: 3 for $1
  • Vintage books: individually priced. Special effort is made to sell them at half of market price to increase the funding that we can provide to the library.

About Us

The Friends are a non-profit membership organization dedicated to supporting the activities and mission of the Eastchester Public Library. The Friends raise funds to support services and programs outside the scope of the library's annual operating budget. Most importantly of all, Friends members are advocates of the library who know the importance of the role of the library in their community.

The Friends are looking for volunteers and could use your help with Administration, Advocacy, Fundraising, and any Special Skills & Talents you may have to offer. Email friends4epl@gmail.com for more information!
