Our Mission

The Friends is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to supporting the activities and mission of the Eastchester Public Library.  The Friends share a belief that a strong public library is essential for a thriving community.  The Friends work together to support the library’s collection and services to benefit the Eastchester community.

The purposes of the organization include:

• To support and cooperate with the Library in developing, maintaining, and enhancing facilities, resources, and services for the community
• To provide supplemental resources to the Library through fundraising efforts
• To encourage support of the Library through gifts, volunteer services, endowments and bequests for the benefit of the Library
• To advocate for the Library and promote the importance of the Library as a significant educational and cultural institution in the community
• To focus public attention on the Eastchester Public Library, and to promote and stimulate use of the Library’s facilities, resources and services by the community.

The Friends of the Eastchester Public Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
