Present: Robert Cartolano, Patrick Pilla, Lisa Sclavo, Councilman Anthony Giacobbe, Tracy Wright
Meeting called to order at 6:35
Rob Cartolano spoke about his experience participating in N.Y. Library Advocacy Day on February 5th . As part of a group representing Westchester County, he met with representatives from local legislators to convey how critical their support was in providing quality local library service to the public. Rob was also tasked with educating legislators about E-book licensing and efforts to reform the current models which are punitive to libraries.
Director Wright discussed several recent estimates for work on the building involving a repair to the boiler. She is also looking into a solution to controlling the temperature of the library’s lobbies. Both lobbies and the interior of the elevator have been extremely cold due to the weather and the installation of the new elevator.
Action Items were postponed until the March 12th meeting due to the absence of the majority of the library board.
Councilman Giacobbe reported that the new Town park is tentatively scheduled to open on March 30th. White Plains Hospital has taken over part of the old Lord & Taylor site. A new café will be opening shortly just across the street from the library.
Meeting adjourned at 7:18 pm.
